This has been a very busy birthday week for me, and the festivities aren’t over yet! On Wednesday afternoon I had a bowling birthday party and some of my friends and coaches from the Community Works program celebrated with me. What can be better than bowling, pizza, and a chocolate Hello Kitty cake?! As you can see I am showing off my awesome cake, that I picked out!
The candles are lit, and everyone is singing “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”
A good time was had by all. (Even the adults!)
On Thursday I went to work and my wonderful co-workers surprised me with a balloon bouquet, a JCP gift card, and a delicious chocolate cupcake! And guess who else shares my birthday? None other than James Cash Penney, the founder of JC Penney’s! Pretty amazing huh? I guess that means it was my destiny to work here.
Other famous notables born on September 16th include Nick Jonas (of the Jonas Brothers Grandpa!) and comedienne Amy Poehler. It’s also Marc Anthony’s birthday, but my mom says he is creepy so we should disregard him. There are quite a few other actors and singers in this group (Lauren Bacall, Ed Begley, Jr., and David Copperfield), so mom says there is now a solid explanation as to why I am so dramatic. Who knew greasepaint flowed through my blood?
On Friday, I am going out to lunch with mom and our friend Debbie to celebrate – you guessed it – MY BIRTHDAY! (Unfortunately, I don’t think I am going to be able to exploit this birthday gig much longer.)
Last year mom wrote a moving blog post about my challenging birth and rocky beginning on my 18th birthday. If you’d like to read it again, you can find it here, but make sure you grab a box of tissues beforehand. You’ll need them, trust me.
Mom wasn’t sure how she was going to top last year’s post so she decided to create a video montage with some great tunes (Lady Gaga anyone?) as special gift to me. I hope you like it. It took her 30+ hours to plan, select the pictures and songs, get tutored by the instructors at the Austin Apple store, and then put it altogether. And when it was done? She spent additional time fine-tuning it.
We really hope you like it. We also really hope that You-Tube doesn’t block all the songs because of copyright infringement. That would be really, really sad. We have our fingers crossed, and added some “legalize” that we hope will satisfy the suits. So, without further ado, here is a trip down “Kinsey’s Memory Lane.”
PS – I’m not sure why Blogger insists on making the video box so small, but if you’d like to see a larger version of this video then click on this link and it will take you directly to You Tube.
